CV

I am computer science graduate who studied at the University of York, now employed by Paymentsense as a software engineer. I achieved highly at school and have a range of work experience gained in varied settings.

I’m decisive and make confident decisions, first using my empathy and interest in others to make sure that they are considered. Employment

Paymentsense & dojo, software engineer

August 2020 - currentOriginally hired for my year in industry, followed by contracting remotely during my final year and now returned under fulltime employment. The role entails developing and maintaining microservices run on GCP which are vital components of Paymentsense's ability to take card payments. Mostly coding in Go, using Kubernetes containers, APIs, web socket connections and PubSub.

The Evergreen Cafe, catering assistant

March 2019 - March 2020During this role I learned a lot of leadership skills as the staff were relatively young/inexperienced. Being able to provide constructive feedback to the manager about methods I had learned in previous roles was key.

The Llama Park, catering assistant

March 2017 – March 2019 Whilst working at The Llama Park I improved my communications skills vastly as the team was relatively disjointed so being able to communicate well was a must.

Compare The Market Ltd, work experience

August 2017Three days’ work experience within the London office. As I was required to travel into the centre of London everyday, it helped improve my time management skills and planning of each day to work around what departments I would be visiting. Whilst one of the big data team was explaining the purpose of the code he was writing, I spotted a logic error even though I wasn’t familiar with the language it was written in.

Ignite Consulting Ltd, work experience

February 2017This was eight days’ work experience at a London-based management consulting firm. During this time I created a visual spreadsheet as a heat map that was used successfully to engage a client.

March 2014

Oxfam, customer assistant
